Radical Aenima is the long-form storytelling project of Jason DeRush — a cinematic fusion of synthwave, alt-rock, metal, and narrative worldbuilding that spans decades, albums, and entire fictional eras.
What began with Radical Ænima's 2006 debut album, 20,000 Words - the original ATM album from 2013 has now evolved into ATM: Reloaded, a fully reimagined and remixed release that reintroduces Jason’s signature blend of emotional grit, futuristic sound design, and mythic narrative structure.
Also released in 2025: Jason DeRush's most ambitious work to date, the Ash to Ocean Trilogy, a huge world built with an incredible story that pushes this vision into a sweeping sci-fi saga told across three albums:
Ash to Ocean — the apocalypse and the prophecy of the World Eater. Surviving the End of the World and the songs as told from the survivor's perspective. (Released August 1st 2025 as part of a three staggered releases in 2025)
Epoch Residue — a glass empire rising on the ruins of truth. The scarred remains of the world shatter civilization. New empires grow and command power and not everything is as it seems. (Released September 15th 2025)
All That Was Tomorrow — the collapse of time itself, and the final attempt to rewrite a fate that was prophesized over and over again. (Released November 1st 2025 bringing the final album in the trilogy to the world so that everyone can experience the hunger of the WORLD EATER.
Across 36 tracks and nearly three hours of interconnected lore, the trilogy follows a lone traveler confronting extinction, empire, memory, and the cyclical nature of destruction. DeRush’s signature approach blends analog warmth, modern synth textures, metal vocal intensity, and cinematic visuals into a single multisensory universe.
